Business Pathfinders has been successfully providing these same services to their client base for over twenty years, combining accounting and financial skills from a Chartered Accounting background with business advisory and planning skills across a broad range of business enterprises.

As a Preferred Service Provider with Indigenous Business Australia, we have assisted businesses to assess and develop strategies for viability and sustainability for business ideas or expansion. Assisting businesses to prepare loan applications including cash flow projections and scenario planning, using our financial analysis skills and strategic planning methodology, we provide IBA with sound advice about the projects.

 

Business Pathfinders has developed a Business Skills Training and Mentoring Program, “The Better Business Program” which combines a skills audit, training in problem solving, decision making and business planning, networking and mentoring to assist businesses to implement their vision, objectives and develop action plans. It is the only business improvement program recognised and endorsed by The Victorian Tourism Accreditation Board. Many graduates have won State and Regional Business Awards after implementing the skills learned.


Business Pathfinders have also conducted “Waste Audits” which assist business owners and staff to identify and fix wastes in resources and time occurring in their businesses. These uncover 10’s to 100’s of thousand of dollars in additional profit to add to the bottom line of their businesses.

Business Pathfinders is also one of the preferred deliverers of the “Under New Management” and Show Me the Money Programs run by the Victorian Department of Industry, Innovation and Regional Development for small business since these programs commenced several years ago.

Business Pathfinders utilises skills, tools and processes including many developed by Mindshop International. Mindshop provides innovative business advisors and consultants with the experienced support needed to deliver the latest business development solutions to clients and create networking opportunities for us with some of the worlds leading business advisors to implement world’s best practice in business advisory services.

Julie Guest has delivered business training to individuals and groups as large as 150 (especially when GST was first introduced). She was, until 2004, a partner in a medium sized rural Chartered Accounting Firm. With her two partners, they provided general practice accounting services to businesses including agricultural, retail, manufacturing and trades. The firm employed 21 staff and they met the needs of their clients in accounting, financial management, agronomy (specialising in water use efficiency), financial planning and superannuation fund management.

Julie Guest is actively involved in community affairs, being a director on the Central Murray Credit Union, which has doubled its asset based to $39mill during the time she has been on the Board. She has just been appointed on the North East Victorian Area Consultative Committee because of her networks and well-rounded business and community knowledge. She is also a committee member of YNH Services Inc, which is the local Neighbourhood House, RTO, Tenants Group and Community Services Referral Agency heavily involved in community development and governance. Julie is the Convenor of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Community Forum which is a peak body representing all sectors of business and community in the local region to facilitate communication, cooperation and resource sharing. This group is formally recognised in the new whole of government approach “Place Management Project” being implemented in Yarrawonga.

Benchmarking & Best Practice
- Julie Guest was a director of ANZAN Professionals Pty Ltd, a company that specialises in Networking, Benchmarking and Practice Management Consulting to Accountants.
- For nearly 12 months Julie Guest managed and facilitated the Network meetings of various groups, arranged and interpreted the benchmarking across Australia and New Zealand.
- This experience together with the participation in and interaction with a number of networks provided Business Pathfinders with the skills to find and manage network opportunities.
